Getting your kid to bed at night can be a real chore. A lot start acting up at bedtime so parents relent and let them stay up later. Others have to use other tactics to get them to bed.

This article has some very useful tips for getting your kid to bed on time every time. These are all proven methods to get them to bed with the minimum of fuss.

You have to implement a bedtime routine for your child form as early an age as possible. They are them used to it as they can’t remember any different so go to bed without any fuss.

The key is to make sure that by the time bedtime comes they have done everything so there is no reason for them to stay up any later. Make sure that they have brushed their teeth, had a bath etc and are ready to go to bed bang on time. Should they resist, stay firm and show them their protests will get them nowhere.

The best way to keep this going when your kids are older is to not give them any reason for excuses. All daily tasks such as homework should be out of the way a long time before bedtime.

By doing this, you are eliminating the scenario of the major assignment that must be finished by tomorrow, which they conveniently remember 5 minutes before bedtime. If the work is completed, they have no excuses at all.

If your older kid goes to bed willingly or even early, you can bet your bottom dollar that they are watching TV or gaming. If you can’t trust your child not to do this, remove their remotes or even the TV altogether. They will soon realise that you have the upper hand and give in.

Stay calm and disciplined while doing these and you will succeed. It my not happen overnight but be patient and you will get there in the end.
